RACING WITH RESTON RUNNERS

Our club has an amazing and diverse range of athletic talent. Many are new club members and are in training for their first 5K or 10K. Others are experienced runners who run competitively and have completed dozens of marathons and ultras. We are unified in our love for the sport and a desire to reach personal goals.

• Reston Runners is making a renewed effort to compete as a team at upcoming road races. We motivate each other through the many good (and bad) miles.  Entering races and competing as a team helps each of us establish running goals--achieve our fastest time, or perhaps run farther than we have before. Racing keeps us motivated and on track (pun intended)! 50th Annual Annapolis 10-Mile Run

Annapolis, MD -- Sunday, August 24, 2025

Registration is OPEN: Annapolis 10-Mile Registration.

The Annapolis Striders hosts this great 10-mile race--it is listed as one of the top 10-mile races in the country by Runner's World Magazine. The start and finish lines are at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. This year marks the 50th anniversary annual run. Note that race registration will close when 4000 registrants are reached and usually sells out every year.

GW Patriot Run 10-Miler and 5K

10th Annual George Washington Patriot Run -- 10-Miler and 5K. Beautiful race along the George Washington Parkway using both lanes of the a mile-mile section between GW Parkway Circle and W. Boulevard Drive. Post-race festivities include music, food, and beverages including free beer for each runner. Note -- free round trip shuttle service from USPTO in Alexendria to Mount Vernon on Race Day.



Army 10-Miler

The Army’s annual Army Ten-Mile Race and Expo starts and finishes next to the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. It is run by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington (MDW). Attracting over 35,000 runners and 900 teams from around the world, the Army Ten-Miler (ATM) exemplifies the Spirit of Sport and the Spirit of a Nation. One of the largest local races and one of the best race experiences for all. Participants include military, civilians, wheel chair athletes and wounded warrior athletes.
