Happy Sunday! What an amazing weekend for running - cooler temps, blue skies. What a blessing this recent weather has been!

For our final ITP session of 2025, we’ll meet in the park across from Green Lizard Cycling in downtown Herndon at 6:00pm on Wednesday for a tempo run on the W&OD trail.

After the run, we’ll have a social hour at Aslin Beer.

What is a tempo run? It is where you run at a comfortably challenging pace - something you can sustain for 30 minutes. It is faster than conversational pace, but slower than a short interval on the track.

Sept. 3rd Workout

  • Heading west on the trail, we’ll warm up for about 10-15 minutes
  • After warming up, accelerate to a faster pace keeping in mind you want to maintain the pace for 30 minutes
  • At about the 25 minute mark, turn around (after pulling off the trail and checking for cyclists)
  • Return to tempo pace until you hit 30-minutes of tempo run
  • Cool down back to Aslin

See you on Wednesday at 6:00pm in downtown Herndon across from Green Lizard Cycling!

What if it’s too hot or stormy? Check the ITP Blog and your email for updates.

Happy Trails!
