Good sportsmanship is required and athletes shall avoid intentional pushing, shoving, or tripping. Cheering for fellow runners is encouraged and welcomed.
About this event
Reston Runners’ Youth In Motion (YIM) Program races at Lake Fairfax Park. Registration is limited to currently registered YIM participants! There is no charge to enter.
This event is a celebration and conclusion of our 2026 YIM Program. The races will be 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile and 1 mile --appropriate for each age group from 4 to 13 years old. The courses will be well marked and staffed with volunteers.
Race bib pickup runs from 8:20 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. followed by group warm ups at 8:50 a.m.
The first race will start promptly at 9 a.m. near the Lake Fairfax Shelter J. PLEASE RSVP so that we have a confirmed head count for post race food for everyone and have a race bib ready for your young athlete(s).
Note: In the unlikely event of a morning thunderstorm or a heat index temperature of 100 degrees or higher by 9 a.m., the YIM races will be canceled and no make up event will be scheduled. Families may hold their own virtual race and share your athlete's name, distance and time to yimcodr@restonrunners.org
