Sunday, September 29: The annual Reston Runners Airport Run
We will meet at the Reston North Commuter Parking Lot—the corner of Sunset Hills and Wiehle Avenue, at 6:30AM. RR will arrange rides for all the runners to Reagan National Airport (DCA). The plan is to start running as a group from the airport. There are several options to choose the distance that you are comfortable with:
- From the airport, run along the Potomac River just past Roosevelt Island to Rosslyn (~4 miles). You can take the Silver Line back to the Wiehle-Reston East Station.
- Continue to run along the Custis Trail to the W&OD Trail to East Falls Church Metro (~10 miles), and take the Silver Line back to Wiehle-Reston East Station.
- Continue to run along the W&OD Trail to Greensboro Station by turning right on Gallows Road from the W&OD Trail (respectable ~16 miles). Several runners have done this in past years.
- Continue all the way to Reston North Commuter Parking Lot for just over 21 miles. This is an excellent long-distance training run for your Fall Marathon (well-timed for MCM).
