Meeting Minutes

 Administrivia:

• Minutes from December – approval next month
• Next BoD Meeting– Wednesday February 16, 6pm ZOOM 
• New Board Members – Two candidates have come forward
• eNews Editor –Young Nam has taken over from the retiring Jim Ratzenberger, thanks to both!
• Communications/Website/Social Media – Catherine looked at other club websites. We’re using Joomla, one of the better platforms. Discussion about enabling multiple people to update things, and developing a full communications strategy and team. The Membership list online is currently manually done, automating that is desirable. A study session has been proposed.
• Free Google Drive for non-profits- Marylooking into setting up & transferring our files from current private drives.
• Diversity and Inclusion – Discussion of starting runs convenient to Reston’s diverse HOAs, clusters, and elementary schools. The RR Community Fund is funding activities at Title 1A schools.
• Annual Meeting – a team has stepped up to coordinate this, Catherine A potluck Signup Genius page will be created later. RCC Covid rules will be followed.
• RRCA Club Insurance Renewal for 2022–Dan will do the additional insurance paperwork for races/programs as they are finalized.

                      Weekly Operations:

• Weekly run-walks–GPS maps exist for our courses, finding a turn-by-turn platform for cell phones would be very helpful.
• Water Support/Announcements -We’ll continue with board members bringing water at start. Sunday midpoint water is being done. In the winter Gatorade will be discontinued. Danupdates the water support spreadsheet run locations as they’re announced.
• Announcements – Get people to join/renew/pay their dues; talk about auto renewal so it won’t be a surprise.
• Course Marking–Marcy has recruited people to “own” certain courses.
• A Rescue Reston runhas been proposed, a normal Saturday 5 mile run with added features from them. TBD.

                   Programs and Events:

• RMR –Scheduled for April 10, 2022, planning is proceeding. 
  • RMR Training Program – The Half Marathon training program is scheduled to start January 29. (Marcy)
• WTP – done entirely outside last year,rather than an indoor orientation before an                              outdoor run as in the past. Same plan this year, dates, etc TBD. Mary

Membership: 

• Annual renewal- we’re currently covering the processing fees

Treasurer Report:

• Balance Sheet and Income Statementwere reviewed, we have adequate cash on hand to cover existing and future expenses. We are operating in line with our planned budget.
