Stats and Chat Reporting
Stats & Chat Guidelines
The Club encourages its members to share their experiences, observations, and insights on running, walking, and the human condition. To accommodate this, several well marked areas of the web site have been created, including the RR forums (soon to be restored) and the weekly guest-authored "Stats and Chat" column. The Club hopes these submissions by individuals will inform, entertain, amuse, and occasionally provoke our membership. The right of reply is a given. Responsibility for the content of such submissions rests solely with the identified author. All authors are expected to refrain from scurrilous comments, ad hominem attacks, or mean spirited remarks of any kind. Violators of this standard will be denied posting privileges.
Given the very important role Stats & Chat (S&C) reporters have in the Club's communications, both among members and with the outside world, combined with the fact that S&C writers provide the most revealing view of Reston Runners that our Website readers can see, anyone aspiring to join the reporting corps:
- must be able to write well
- must abide by the Website guidelines (columns that don't will be removed!)
- must be able to post their own column (after a short "break-in" training period using our on-line guide)
- must post the column in a timely way (preferably by the following Wednesday)
- must NOT ask another to post your column for you; otherwise, the posted column will appear as the creation of the person doing the physical posting; contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are having trouble posting your column
If, given those conditions, you'd like to write a Stats and Chat column, please go to our Stats&Chat Scheduler any open Sunday date(s) you'd like to report on.
Your report will be expected to cover run/walk events for the whole weekend unless you choose to join with a co-reporter to share the privilege..
