The Beginning Runners group is for new runners or women returning to running after a break. Our focus will be on building the strength and stamina to finish a 5K distance. We will primarily work on pacing, proper stretching techniques, and how to increase your running distance without injury. You will get the most out of this program if you follow the weekly workout plans posted each week. Remember to also check the Weekly Message! Eight Week 5K Training: Beginning Runners This is a sample training program to use to prepare for a 5k race. Your goal is to run 3.1 miles by the end of the WTP. Adjust your pace to what is comfortable for you. |
